Because of the shorter lifespan of our pets, Glenkirk Animal Hospital stresses the importance of an annual physical examination. Thorough check-ups and preventive care can help alleviate serious health problems. We offer a wide range of veterinary services to keep your companions feeling their best:

Vaccinations:  We believe in a proactive approach to preventative care to maintaining your pet's health. We provide vaccinations to prevent common viral and bacterial infections in Virginia. Our vaccination program gives your pet a line of defense against common diseases. 

 Heartworm Prevention: We provide annual testing and prevention for Heartworm Disease.

Surgical Services:  We adopt a comprehensive approach for common and complicated surgeries for our companion animals. We use safe anesthesia and pain management for all our pets undergoing surgery. We provide consultations before every procedure whether it's simple surgery or extensive soft-tissue or orthopedic surgery.

Radiology Services: We provide digital imaging for the diagnosis of all complicated cases.

Dental Prophylaxis:  Oral hygiene is extremely important for maintaining the overall health of our pets. For that reason we provide routine dental cleaning and polishing. Dental radiographs before any extractions are offered and performed in our hospital.

Laboratory Services:  We provide state of the art in house lab testing which includes routine blood work, urinalysis, cytology, etc. 

Ultrasound:  We provide on-call ultrasound of abdomen and chest for our companion animals.
